Conor Oberst
August 22 @ Leeds Carling Weekend
HE'S a man of many aliases but until now Conor Oberst has rarely released anything under his own name.
All that's set to change with the unveiling of his new – self-titled – album, which comes out on Wichita Recordings next week.
The CD – which is streaming on his website, www.conoroberst.com – are something of a return to form after his disappointing major label debut under his Bright Eyes moniker, Cassadaga.
Recorded in a mountain villa in Mexico, it comprises 12 tracks of folk and country rock with Oberst's voice upfront and growing in confidence.
There's a chance to see him live – with his Mystic Valley Band – at the Leeds Carling Weekend. They'll be playing at Bramham Park on August 22.
l Conor Oberst is released on Monday.
