Meehan in court over porn

CRAIG Meehan, former partner of Shannon Matthews’ mother, arrived in a police van for an appearance at Dewsbury magistrates’ court.
He was accused of 11 specimen offences of possessing indecent images of children aged four to 16.
Meehan, 22, a supermarket fishmonger, of Dewsbury Moor, has denied the charges and the case was adjourned. He will stand trial at the same court at a later date.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth and was remanded back into custody until another hearing next Wednesday. A handful of friends and family watched proceedings from the gallery.
Meehan was arrested last month by officers investigating nine-year-old Shannon’s disappearance. She went missing on February 19 and was found in a house a mile from her home after a 24-day search.
