A PIZZA delivery driver was attacked and robbed today by two men – one armed with a Samurai sword.

The attack happened as the man delivered to an address in Appleton Court, Burmantofts, Leeds at 2am.

Det Insp Nick Wallen said that as the pizza man was ringing the bell for a flat, he was approached by two men.

One of the men was wearing a balaclava and was armed with the sword. He threatened the man while his accomplice punched him, knocking him to the ground.

Cuts

Det Insp Wallen said the man curled up into a ball to defend himself. While he was still on the ground, his pockets were rifled and cash stolen. The robbers also took the pizza.

He added that the victim suffered cuts to his hands, which were not caused by the sword. He did not require hospital treatment.

The sword man is believed to be white and of slim build and his accomplice is white and in his 20s.

Witnesses or anyone with information can ring Killingbeck CID on 0113 241 3685 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
