Grandmaster Marc Leaf is something of a veteran with over 20 years experience on decks around the world. Plus he's bona fide Leeds born and bred.
Although he's never been much of a clubber he's always been a stalwart of dance music and, like most DJs started on the path in his teens.

His break came in the early 90s with legends like Sundance in Bradford, but now he's a regular with some of the biggest nights on the circuit.

He also enjoys regular spells on The White Island and gigs across the globe.

On top of all that he releases his own records and is an established remixer and producer, but you can sense his continued passion for the decks and his home crowd.

"I've been at a bit of a crossroads in my life to be honest." he said. "You think 'Am I a bit old to be a DJ?' but do you know what? I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

"I still love it just as much as I did all those years ago and I still love playing to the clubbers in Leeds, which is why this event is a great idea - because it's just for us local DJs and for local people.

"Sometimes it can be a bit frustrating when you get people travelling from all over to see some big name who steals all the limelight - and they might not even be that good or do much different to what we do.

"So this is going to be one for us - one for Leeds - a real party where everyone can chill out and grab a beer and lap up the music."
