BRB is a something of an unsung hero on the quick-bite dining scene in Leeds.
BRB is a something of an unsung hero on the quick-bite dining scene in Leeds.
Better known simply as a cool nighttime hang out for drinkers in the Exchange Quarter, it's delights as a place to grab something to eat are, as yet, comparatively unknown.
Sure there's a select number who know they do a top selection of stone baked pizzas, fresh gourmet salads, sandwiches, grazing boards and a few baked dishes, but in the main it's not quite on the culinary radar.
Which is a tragedy, because the food here is brilliant.
Myself and my dining partner went for the meat grazing board designed for two people to share, but being cynics we though it would only just fill one of us and also ordered the mexed grazing board - big mistake.
Just one of these bad boys was good enough. Packed with tons of meat and cheesy garlic bread it was more than enough for both of us - but then arrived the Mexican inspired number which was overflowing with chicken wings, nachos and guacamole, among other things.
Not surprisingly we had to leave about a third of it, and what we did consume left us stuffed but very satisfied.
The quality of the food here is amazing, not least because its relatively inexpensive with the grazing boards only costing £10-12 (that's, obviously about £5-6 per person).
Meanwhile even their biggest most luxurious 12 inch pizza will cost you no more than £8, the large salads £7.75 and the sandwiches somewhere between £4 and £8 - and we're talking some pretty luxurious concoction here too.
Plus BRB has always been a very stylish place to visit with the hallmark Leeds look of bare brick walls and exposed floorboards and since its makeover earlier this year it's had a very warming, sumptuous edge added.
Our final bill with drinks came to close to £28 but it could have easily been much less if we hadn't have been so greedy, sorry, I mean if we hadn't have been so tempted.
Great value, good service, chic surroundings and an abundance of quality food. Perfection.
