Leeds United have invited Liverpool starlets Krisztian Nemeth and Astrit Ajdarevic to join up with the club for pre-season training with a view to signing both players on loan.
The talented teenagers will be given the chance to work alongside United's first-team squad next month as boss Gary McAllister considers the possibility of adding the pair to his pool of players for the 2008-09 League One season.

Nemeth – signed by Liverpool from MTK Hungaria last summer – is a 19-year-old striker whose goals helped the Anfield club win the FA Premier Reserve League title last season and earned him a call-up to Hungary's international squad last month.

Nemeth's performances with Liverpool's second string have also edged him towards a senior debut under Rafael Benitez, but the prospect of greater first-team exposure in Leeds may appeal to the club's Spanish boss.

The forward scored nine times for the Anfield reserves during the 2007-08 campaign, guiding them to the top of Premier Reserve League North and playing his part in their 3-0 victory over southern league champions Aston Villa.

Leeds are also keen to assess Ajdarevic, an 18-year-old left-sided midfielder who was added to Liverpool's academy ranks 18 months ago. The Kosovan-born player holds Swedish nationality and played for the Scandinavian country in the recent UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

He was also involved with the Liverpool side which lifted the FA Youth Cup last year.

McAllister has strong connections with Anfield having completed two seasons of his playing career with Liverpool, and Sammy Lee – Liverpool's assistant manager – was given the chance to become McAllister's number two at Elland Road before Steve Staunton's appointment in February.

United's players will begin pre-season training a week on Friday, with their League One campaign due to begin against Scunthorpe United on August 9.

Leeds have seen the number of alterations for their 2008-09 fixture list rise to five after the kick-off times for their games at Huddersfield Town and Yeovil Town were brought forward on police advice.

United's long trip to Huish Park on Saturday, August 23 will start at 1pm, while their clash at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday, February 14 will kick-off at noon.

The club's fixtures at Scunthorpe, Peterborough United and Carlisle United had already been moved from 3pm kick-offs.
